Git Visual

Scope

This policy explains how Emotive Studios LLC ("Emotive Studios," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use Git Visual. It applies only to this product. Any third-party service identified in this policy has its own privacy practices.

Local repository information

Git Visual reads and modifies repositories that you open or clone. Repository files, commit history, branches, diffs, author information, remote addresses, and working-copy changes are processed on your Mac. The app stores local repository bookmarks and workspace metadata so it can reopen authorized repositories and restore your workspace.

Git Visual does not upload repository content, commit history, or workspace metadata to Emotive Studios and does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

Remote Git operations

When you clone, fetch, pull, or push, Git Visual connects directly to the Git server identified by the repository’s remote address. The remote provider receives the network and repository information required to complete that command, which may include your IP address, account name, credentials, requested references, and uploaded commits. The remote provider’s privacy policy governs that processing.

Emotive Studios does not proxy or receive remote Git traffic.

Credentials and file permissions

Repository and SSH-key access is limited to locations you authorize through macOS. If you choose “Save in Keychain,” an HTTPS token or SSH-key passphrase is stored in the macOS Keychain. Credentials entered without that option are used for the requested operation and are not saved as a reusable credential by Git Visual.

Data sharing and tracking

Git Visual does not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or track activity across apps or websites. Information is disclosed to a Git host only when necessary to perform the remote operation you request.

Retention and deletion

Repository bookmarks and workspace metadata remain in the app’s local database until removed or the app’s data is deleted. Repository files and information already sent to a remote Git host remain under that host’s controls. Saved credentials remain in macOS Keychain until you remove them in Git Visual or Keychain Access.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we control, and to appeal or complain about how a request is handled. Emotive Studios does not discriminate against anyone for exercising a privacy right. Most information described as local in this policy is controlled directly through the app and your device; Emotive Studios cannot retrieve data it never receives.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request concerning information held by Emotive Studios, use the contact information below. We may need to verify the request before acting on it.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the information and services we operate. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Protect your device, operating-system account, exported files, and backups with appropriate access controls.

Children

Git Visual is not directed to children under 13, and Emotive Studios does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the product. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided information to Emotive Studios may contact us to request review and deletion.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the product, its services, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of the page identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented through the website, the app, or another appropriate notice.
